Francesca Galliani, born in Italy, moved to the United States of America when she was 19. After receiving a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Art from the prestigious Corcoran School of Art in Washington D.C., Galliani won the Kodak EuropeanPanorama Award in Arles 1995 for her impressive and distinctive photographic art. Galliani has exhibited extensively throughout the international fine art world, including New York City, Milan, Paris, Berlin, Dubai, Venice, Genoa, Rome, Sydney and Hamburg. Her numerous solo shows have been met with the highest of praise, and her work has been exhibited alongside the work of photographers such as Helmut Newton, Robert Mapplerthorpe, Pierre et Gilles, Bettina Rheims, David LaChapelle, Joel-Peter Witkin, Larry Clark, Man Ray, Tracey Emin and Marina Abramovic at the renowned Modern Art Gallery in Bologna 2004 (200 years history of nude), Casa del Pane in Milan 2007 (Dangerous Curves, curated by Maurizio Schaccaluga) and Palazzina Reale in Florence 2007 (Art and Homosexuality: from Von Gloeden to Pierre et Gilles, curated by Eugenio Viola). As well as being a major participant in the international fine art world, Galliani's work has been embraced by the high end fashion world, with her photography appearing in internationally acclaimed magazines such as Glamour, Velvet, Vogue, Detour, D, Zoom, XL, Out. In 2007 Galliani won the much coveted fashion client Levi's, which not only used her work for their advertisement campaign "blue", but also exhibited the original work at the Triennale in Milan. Galliani's work has been published extensively in catalogues and books throuhout the world, and has appeared in: "Real" (Charta), "Women by Women" (Prestel), "Up To The Sky" (Divigraf), "body and soul" (Diffusioni Grafiche) . Galliani's art is much sought after and has been bought by important international art collectors. She now lives and works in New York City.
